We hired Scott Rainey to deliver our new power boat from Newport VA to Portsmouth RI during the earlier spring colder weather this past season. The entire experience was terrific. He explained the entire process in advance and delivered the boat with no difficulties whatsoever. He brought his own first mate and was able to meet all the requirements on delivery. His price was more than fair as we had gotten several quotes. He not only got the boat back to the marina in less time than predicted and saved us money, he charted the entire course and shared each point that we could easily follow along the way. He followed the weather carefully and never put his crew or the boat in any risk. His level of professionalism and regular communications before and during the delivery were excellent. He also explained all his decisions in great detail with no surprises. If you might be looking to hire a fully licensed, seasoned, knowledgeable and honest captain to deliver or transport your boat, I would recommend checking with Scott. I have used Coastal several times. He brought our new Vicem 55 from Connecticut down to Virginia. I was on board as it was an opportunity to learn the boat. Scott was very careful with the boat, conscientious in checking the engines and running gear on a regular basis, and monitor every system on our new boat. In addition, his understanding of the Garmin System is impressive and spent a great deal of time teaching me how to fully use it. His follow up reporting gave me a clear understanding of the trip and how the boat performed.
